The 2016 red blend is not even close to what it used to be I thought it was a bad bottle so I opened up a second one and it was just as bad as it used to be absolutely delicious and so smooth and now it sucks

It's Fine For the Price
I'm rating this wine: 1) based on the price and 2) being a BevMo employee. As far as the Unruly family goes, we (at least our store) sells a fair amount of this wine. Knowing it's a $6.50 bottle of wine I tasted it with that in mind. Yes, it is sweet, a bit like juice but nothing like moscato sweet at all. It's definitely lighter in taste as far as blends go. I'd recommend this wine as an everyday wine, not as a gift or for a nice event.

Smooth
The first thing I noticed about this wine was its smooth finish. Slight notes of fruit, with a smooth rich finish, make this wine perfect for an evening of unwinding from work. It is well worth the money -- which isn't much!

Mater of personal taste
New and still acquiring a taste for red wine Dr. recommended red wine over white. Not too bad for me tasted like a weak/watered down Merlot. Drank 1/3 bottle no headache, being a blend maybe poor quality control for wide variety of reviews.

Too sweet
Yuck. I bought 2 bottles of this today using the 5 cent special. Way to sweet. Wish they had a return policy like TJ. Hate to throw this away but now I'm stuck with 2 bottles and I don't like it. Is there a way to make it less sweet?

The Unruly Dark is better...no headache
I also get a headache from this wine, a bit watered down too. I find the Unruly dark to be a fuller bodied wine, no headache and the same price. We drink these as our daily wines without breaking the bank!

well rounded balance
The first thought that came to mind was "Damn, I didn't expect that". well balanced red. after sitting it became a little sweet and thats probably because my mouth adapted to the flavor but a well balanced buy and even shocked for the price point. I would say this would be a good $25 based on my tasting. Has a berry and smooth after taste. I would recommend this for big parties it has a balance to satisfy all wine drinkers who have their own pallet

Writing a review to remind myself to not buy this selection again. It wasn't terrible, but it tasted no better than mediocre. With the many other options that BevMo offers, I'd rather buy something else.

WINNER, WINNER, Drink this Red with Dinner!
Bought this to sample as a potential pick for our wedding. After several attempts to find the right red, this one stole the show. It's slightly sweet with a sexxie finish. Hints of cherry with a slight hint of oak and sophistication. LOVE this wine! We bought 3 cases during the 5 cent sale... 2 for the wedding and 1 for me to keep at home. We tried out several varieties of reds with our friends and this was was a unanimous YES. Exceptional wine for the price. I highly recommend trying this over the Unruly Cab.

Good taste and a great value
A very good value in a red wine, especially during the 5-cent sale. Medium body, good flavor, very smooth, slightly sweet (but not too much), with a faint peppery tinge at the end giving it that "unruly" kick. A very good wine that I will buy more of.

Good tasting and good value
An enjoyable wine by itself or after a meal. This is a medium bodied wine that is pretty smooth from start to finish, no decanting needed. It has a sweet raspberry taste from beginning to mid palate, then ends with blackberry and cocoa taste in the end.

Solid Value for the Price!
On the 5 cent sale it is a great value. It is quite similar to the Rex Goliath Free Range Red - which I find easily drinkable and quite tasty for the price. Add my voice to the chorus of people who would recommend this to the not-so-discriminating wine drinker who does not put on airs while enjoying a good, easy drinking glass of wine.

I got what I paid for, on th 5 cent bottle. Just not on the 12 dollar bottle.
Don't believe the Wong review... this "explodes" with nothing. I know I demand a lot out of my wines: flavor, balance, something subtle or something bold. But this is nonoe of those, its just plain boring. I'm sorry, there is no other way to say it. Don't be fooled into thinking htis thing has any spice, maybe a tiny tanin. This does nothing when aired out. Flat.

Beginner's Wine
I'm not what I consider a professional; I am a casual wine drinker. With that, I absolutely love Unruly Red. It's incredibly soft and with air loses any bite. Great for sipping or paired with appetizers. It's a gently fruity wine, and a great choice for those who are not wine aficionados looking to be impressed.

Light Tannin, Tastey Fruit and almost sweet... an all purpose table red.
If you prefer a light touch of tannin, then this is your red. Well balanced and flavorful with a hint of tannin, just the right amount fruit, and a good choice for sipping and chatting.

Don't belive the naysayers--this is a GREAT wine.
This is the only red wine that my daughter will drink. I can offer her the finest aged Bordeaux and she will turn up her nose, but she will now open this wine up for herself after I go to sleep! It really is a great, berry, juicy thing. Don't pay attention to those reviews that say it is sweet (there is no residual sugar here--or in any red wines usually) nor is it tannic ( as implied by the "unruly" comments). I took this to a Thanksgiving party and it was the first wine consumed. Buy by the case.

a GREAT basic red wine
The cashier recommended this wine. I was looking for a nice basic red wine for a casual night in. I didn't want anything too oak-y or too fruity. Just a well balanced red wine. This is definitely it!! It's super good and only $12 bucks and part of the 5 cent sale. They also mentioned that this stuff flies off the shelves. I recommend giving it a try.

An easy to drink red for thoes who don't enjoy reds due to tannins or "bitterness". This wine is a great choice for a dinner party if you're not sure what your guests tastes are for wine. Will pair well with any meat or pasta as it's pretty smooth with very little bite. Enjoy!

Inexpensive but not especially good.
Not understanding the gold medals and glowing reviews. To say it's mediocre is generous. I suppose it's not terrible for the low cost spent, but if you go by the reviews I suspect you'll be at least somewhat disappointed. If you're looking for cheap, it's ok. If you're looking for good, keep looking.

CAUTION: beginner wine over rated quality!
I have lost confidence in Wong's rating skills. The description of the wine was way off and needs to say it has an unbalanced fruit finish. It is overly fruity and a great beginner wine, but for anyone with taste it is terrible. I drank it with wine drinkers who are learning the good and bad characteristics of wine and they noticed how poorly it tasted compared to many other wines I have introduced them too. 90+ rating NO WAY!!!

Great for a Variety of Palates
We love this red! We purchased the '09 for our wedding and have bought many bottles of the '10 since for parties and everyday dinner. My husband and I have drastically different palates and we meed in the middle with this wine. It was great for our wedding because it appears many different tastes. Though it's good straight out of the bottle, I agree with other reviewers that giving it a good breathing for 15-30 minutes increases the tastiness of this wine. If you're going to be drinking straight from the bottle, I recommend pouring the wine into another container and then back into the bottle to help it aerate.

If you are a wine drinker, don't try this one.
After reading all the good reviews I tried this one. I was really disappointed. The wine is too sweet. Basically no character to it. I am surprised this is 92 point wine. I would say just grape juice tastes better.

It should get 1/2 star
Unfortunately, I saw the 4.5 rating and the 92 Wong rating and decided to give this blend a try during the 5 cent sale. My wife and I couldn't finish our first glass. We had hoped that letting it sit for an hour or so would help, but how do you expect something with no flavor to get better? This is a beginners wine with no complexity. You have been forewarned. Anyone want my "5 cent" bottle?

Just can't bring myself to agree
After reading all these positive reviews, I really wanted to like this wine. I don't. My wife does (and I trust her tastes). For me the name "Unruly Red" is the perfect description. Rough and sort of five days open and left on the counter taste. Actually thought the first bottle I tried (five cent sale) was bad. Tried the second bottle a week later with same result. Don't think I will put a few bottles up for a decade or so to see if it improves. My wife does not like it quite well enough to buy just for her. So no more.

You get what you pay for
A fruity and slightly sweet wine with a little spice. The short finish gives away it's lack of complexity. At this price point it's hard to ask for a lot from a wine but I prefer a Columbia Crest Cabernet or Merlot which is dryer more aromatic with some dusty toasted oak on the finish.

Quite the crowd pleaser!
To begin with this is blended table wine, not an aged varietal and as such is very drinkable with a variety of pairings. Those of you looking for the subtle complexities or bold exhortations of a superbly crafted boutique red are barking up the wrong tree. But, for $12 a pop (unit price ~$6 apiece when taking advantage of the .5cent sale) it's hard to complain - especially when it has proven to be the most widely appreciated wine I have ever taken to other's homes. Italians and the French consume low-brow pedestrian wines nowhere near the quality of their famed selections on a daily basis with their lunch and dinner, now there's one for Californians!

Pleasantly Surprised!
I received this as part of a gift basket raffle prize. I wasn't sure what to think of it and thought that I had nothing to lose. I used a Soiree wine aerator to let it breathe for about an hour. Wow!! This is truly a great wine! Not too dry or too sweet. It is a smooth red that goes well with steak, pizza and dark chocolate.

My "go to" weekday red
I am not a sophisticated drinker by any means but I know what I like so take this review for what it is. This is an easy to drink wine. I enjoy it best with friends or after a rough day with the kids. I find that with Red Blends, it will be a bit sweeter and less complex than a Cab (Maybe because of the Merlot?). Maybe because of the simple nature of this wine, it easily pairs with my favorite food accompaniments (dk. chocolate, cheese and crackers). Definitely a good buy as part of the 5¢ sale.
