Angle's Envy is the best bourbon I have had to date! Very smooth, wonderful nose and palate, and a finish that makes you want another sip, every time!

There are much better bourbons for less money
There are much better bourbons out there. You can barely taste the port influence. And, it's not even as smooth as Buffalo Trace or Maker's Mark. Those cost half the price. I'm really not impressed with this one.

Can’t go wrong
One of the best of the best. In my own collection and a great gift for someone worth a long lasting friendship.

Unpopular opinion, but this one is just OK
This is probably a 5 star bourbon, but for the price, there are better whiskeys out there. I know it's critically acclaimed, won a bunch of awards, and is apparently "a masterpiece that will live long in legend after the final bottle is poured" I'm just not that impressed. AE's master distiller got his chops at Woodford Reserve, which I find a slightly better bourbon for the $$$.

A Favorite
Yes, there is hype right now about this bottle, but in this case, for good reason. It's smooth, it's vanilla notes are fantastic and the port aging is unique. My wife and I love this bottle for ourselves as well as it's a crowd pleaser at our house parties. Anyone who's tried this has the same reaction, "@#&% that's good."

I don't drink with my nose in the air, but rather drink for enjoyment and pleasure and frankly, good is good.

This one is special!
Neat with a splash of water. Great nose, smooth and silky finish with a lot of flavor. The sweetness is really special with just the right amount of bite. The port cask worked wonders on this small batch bourbon.

Uniquely exquisite
Uniquely aged in port barrels picked up on the lingering finish.. Smooth enough for even a non whiskey drinking female to sip while my husband greatly enjoys.

Angel's Should not be envious
angels have no reason to be envitous wile good the low proofage makes it to light on the palate so muh so that i dont notice the port still if you enjoy light tasting bourbons this one is perfect.

Mediocrity sells
Hype whiskey. And I bought it. Paid $48, some change and tax for a jug of this booze. I can say with a fair amount of certainty it is probably whiskey. Further I would not say under oath.

The finish is what ruined it
Not a 'bad' whiskey but will not purchase again with other options. I won't go into the pretense of what it tastes like (vanilla with a hint of gooseberries etc) for all palates are different but will give a basic review. This whiskey is smooth, has a nice nose, a nice flavor, BUT the finish has a long lasting green under-aged whiskey finish which really turned me off. I was on the fence to give it 3 stars but at 40.00 a bottle it is a 2 star. If it didn't have the lasting terrible finish (to me) it would be a decent drink. To disclose drinking it on ice in a tumbler so maybe neat this whiskey is a good drink.

New Favorite
I recently completed the Urban Bourbon Trail in Louisville, KY. Over the course of 3 days, I sampled dozens of bourbons, often side-by-side. This is the only one that stood out to me. It is that good.

Woodford Reserve is my favorite but this is very nice
Went in to pick up a bottle of Woodford and for grins asked the sales person what positive comments he heard of the others in the display. He went straight to this. I picked up a bottle and have had it twice straight and once over ice. Not as smooth as Woodford straight but a very good flavor and has a kick to it that sneaks up on you. I like it over ice even more. This is a keeper but... I am still going back for my bottle of Woodford before the sale ends. A buck saved and all that...

One of the best Bourbons out
I found this to be exciting, intriguing, and even a bit of a mystery. I've really got no comparison to any other branding out there... I first tasted this from a Glencairn crystal and was immediately floored with the complexities- surely from the port barrel aging...what else could it be? The gratuitous oak flavor is there in the middle of things, but what hit me up front is a powerful nutty and nougat taste with a creamy, mouth-filling presence. The finish was great: spicy and cinnamon-like. Truly, thoroughly enjoyed this offering from the first pour. I next tried it over ice but found it rather muted and blah...note to self: NO ICE. I don't think this requires water to enhance it, but a very small splash may appeal. Personally- this is for neat drinking only and in a proper vessel. How you drink it makes ALL the difference.

Nothing to Envy
Just fine, but nothing special. In the same price range, the Hirsh was significantly better. For all talk of port barrel aging, the AE still has a harsher after taste than I want from a $45 bourbon. I think I even prefer the Jim Beam black. Again, its not that I dislike this drink, but nothing makes me want to buy it again.

Sipping bourbon on the road to Emmaus: I'm a convert!
Don't pay any attention to the disaffected hipsters who aren't happy unless they are unimpressed by something. This bourbon is simply outstanding! This is an incredibly smooth drink with a heady, spicy flavor. I'll even go so far as to say that it is "mouth filling," easy to drink, and a great buy. I'd put it up against more expensive bourbons or ryes. I generally prefer rye, but I think Angel's Envy has converted me.

I liked and enjoyed its initial vanilla notes and smoothness until.. as MK in his review put it "the finish is what ruined it!"
To eliminate the nasty finish I had a sip of 805 Ale by Firestone Walker Brewing Company and found the Angel's Envy very favourably enhanced the flavour of my beer significantly!
So for that Angel'$ Envy... I rate you a 3 vs MK's and my initial 2.
