I can't belive the disapointment .
I agree with the previous review . I did the same buy on bottle for $110 4 years ago and one 2 weeks ago for $56 and only the glass bottle and the label are same. Water is inside is totally different product and not in a better way.
This second bottle is pisswater.

1738 Was a Good Year
Spicy with a good long finish, this is worth the price difference instead of the VSOP. That said, there is a lot at this price point and many I prefer to the RM.

1738 scam
Bought this product twice. First in 2013 since I liked it so much at the tasting event Remy hosted. That bottle was ~$120, and tastes exactly as it did at the wine tasting. Now in Dec 2014, I noticed that the price has dropped to ~$47. I still have about 20% of the bottle from 2013, but couldn't resist picking up on this deal at such a good price (comparatively). The $47 dollar bottle tastes like garbage compared to the $120 bottle. I tried both side-by-side. The nose is degraded, the body is thinner, and the product is rougher and less complex; it especially has less chocolate. Either Bevmo has knowingly picked up some inventory of fake 1738 and marked down the price, or Remy has degraded the quality of 1738 and thus lowered the price of their product. I'm just glad I still have some from the 2013 purchase so I can expose Remy and/or Bevmo.
