Delicious over ice
I made an attempt to mix a Vesper martini but it was not really the flavor for me. However, serving the Lillet Blanc simply over ice was delicious; it's sweet, refreshing and has a kick.

Best martini ever
Whenever I am near Boise, ID, I must detour to the Bardenay restaurant to have a house martini (I call it the Bardenini); 5 parts house distilled gin, 1 part Lillet, 2 blue cheese hand stuffed olives, shaken and served straight up. I can't replicate the gin at home, but do all the rest. Superb.

Great Summer aperitif
A necessity in a Vesper, but also delicious on ice with a slice of lemon. Sweet, apple notes and summery without being cloying. Love it as a simple aperitif.

So freakin' good!
White wine with a kick and aromatics. Serve it on the rocks with an orange slice at your next party and prepare for compliments!

The Proper Vesper Measurements
The proper Vesper measurements are 3:1:1/2 but it will not be quite as sweet as Adrians mix but Bond wouldn't have it any other way. Dont Forget the Lemon twist! Also make sure to wipe the peel along the rim of the glass to get a little more of that citrus flavor in your sips!

Mix A James Bond Martini
If you want to create a James Bond, "Vesper", martini, you need to use Lillet Blanc. I tried a few, using Bombay Sapphire Gin and alternating Kettle One with Belvedere in a 3:1:1 mix (gin, vodka, Lillet) , shaken. not stirred. So how did it compare with classic Bombay martini? Very tasty, more sweet than with Martini&Rossi Extra Dry vermouth. I didn't have a lemon twist, so I added 2 - 3 drops of lime juice. I swear by Bombay Sapphire, and maybe a Vodka with a lemon grass infusion would be the best choice. Lillet is expensive, so buy it on sale, and treat yourself to a Vesper martini the next time you watch Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace. Make it a true cocktail with Lillet Blanc. David.
