Seriously. People either seem to think this is the best tequila ever made, or that it is crazily-overpriced junk. The simple truth is that Patron makes a very good, simple, clean, crisp, refreshing tequila that is, to me, worth it's price (Patron is the Heineken of tequilas, IMO).
In this price range, Don Julio blanco is definitely smoother and has more agave flavor. If you go up a little in price you can get Fortaleza which is insanely smooth and bursting with agave flavor (this is my favorite tequila). But sometimes you just want something clean, crisp and fresh and that's when Patron is perfect...not to mention it's fairly neutral flavor makes it one of the best tequilas for cocktails.
Yes, there are more flavorful tequilas out there in this price range, but Patron is very good, fairly priced, and a tequila that you can do anything with (sip, shots, cocktails). It is a tequila that I like to always have on-hand and one that I fully recommend. -

- The ignorance of Victor M is amazing. Yes, Patron was started at the Siete Leguas distillery but it was so well received, Patron built it's own distillery. The master distiller that started both brands, Francisco Alcaraz, was such a believer in what Patron was doing, he left and went to Patron. Patron is the only Tequila to have the ISO 14001 certification, all bottles use recycled glass and the Tequila is produced using the old tahona rock method, making what is in the bottle one of the best.

- Not bad, definitely overrated. This tequila is good but way too over priced for its quality. There are much better Silvers out there for this price.

- Remarkably overpriced. A bit of shopping and tasting will find you a tequila just as good for at least 20 bucks less.

- The most overmarketed Spirit... Why would I want a rapper to tell me this is the stuff I have to drink? First off when they Started, they had & Leguas make their Tequila from !991-2002, then they (Paul Mitchell--- That's right the hair dude What does he know about Tequila?) try and do it themselfs, The Tequila you buy today is not as good as the original simply because They make their own instead of having a Gold + Double gold Tequila company make their product (Patron has never one 1 of these awards), not to mention the only reason they started to make their own was because 7 Leguas could not mass produce this stuff, and did not want to sacrifice QUALITY for QUANTITY....... Buy 7 Leguas and see what Patron only wishes they could be.
