90 PTS WINE & SPIRITS. The '08 Redbone Zin has a floral scent of mixed blacks; oak dominates that fruit character at first with whisky barrel scents, but they fade into a smoky warmth; dense, intense.

Are you kidding me?
The reviews got me to buy a few bottles on the 5c sale. I found the taste mildly intriguing at first, then wondered whether I got a bad bottle as the flavor turned harsh, leaving an unpleasant aftertaste. I used the rest of the wine to make bolognese sauce and then opened another bottle to drink with the pasta. The taste was idnetical to the first bottle. I did not finish the glass. Thank goodness that BevMo takes these back on the 5c sale! I am returning the other bottles tomorrow.

A Most Wonderful Zin
As unhelpful as Thetis P's August 2012 one-word review was voted to be, nonetheless it was accurate. My wife and I drink red wines almost exclusively. She and I have developed divergent tastes lately. If I think a wine is superb she thinks it's too harsh. If she thinks it's just right, I think it is too bland. We opened our first bottle of Red Bone last night with guests and we both instantly agreed -- just delicious! Perfect! I am sorry that I am not enough of an oenophile to be able to tell whether a wine has hints of raspberry, stone chips, or rat droppings. I guess as with art, I just know what I like and I can tell the difference between a good and poor wine -- unfortunately. (As someone once said, "The worst thing in life is to be taught the difference between good wine and bad.") And this is a darned good wine. BevMo's description is accurate too: dense, intense (but a mellow intensity, thus my wife was not put off). So I'll second Thetis' economically stated review: Awesome!
