Not a keeper....
Not worth the .05 cent sale. Too sweet.  Not dry, not complex. Much better wines for the price. I guess if you like white zin's or really sweet wines, you might like it.

It amazes me that people have such strong opinions about a drink made from fermented grape juice!  The wine was just fine for what it is.  It's an $8 Zin on the 5 cent sale.  1 Stars get over yourselves and buy another $8 Zin or don't.  Jesus people it's just wine!

perhaps an explanation for the diverse reviews for this wine
The 1st bottle I had of the 2011 Zin was undrinkable.  By mistake we opened the other bottle we purchased for 5 cents :) and Lo! it wasn't bad.  What's going on?  A first hint was that this second bottle's wine was ever-so-slightly carbonated, just enough to provide a teeny edge on my tongue.  I would guess that this was a result of secondary fermentation in the bottle.  (I'm not an expert in winemaking, but I think this is what is called malo-lactic fermentation.)  A second, bigger hint: the next day the remainder of the bottle had become undrinkable.  My guess is that secondary fermentation was accelerated by exposure to air, and it totally ruined what had been a fairly decent wine. So I hypothesize that the reason for the peculiar distribution of the customer reviews into two disparate groups is that this wine is unstable.  It starts out as a good wine, as attested by numerous 4 and 5 star ratings, but it then degrades in the bottle to an undrinkable state, as attested by numerous 1 star reviews.  If this is true, then buying this wine is risky.  If you do buy it, and it is still good, then drink it as fast as you can while it stays that way.

Picked this up at the 5 cent wine sale. I was initially leery of the twist-off cap instead of a cork, but since it was rated at 92 pts by WW, I figured I would give it a try. I should have trusted my instincts ... I couldn't get more than a few sips down. Poured the opened bottle down the drain & will be returning the unopened bottle. Tastes very cheap!
