A truly awesome Pinot
Wow! I’m a Pinot Noir freak, and I’m fussy about the Pinots I drink. The 2011 Ranch 32 Pinot is over the top. It’s huge, deep, complex, fruity, leathery, and just plain massive. I don’t know what vintages the low-rating reviews addressed, but I’m stunned to see such low ratings and bad reviews. Either they weren’t for the 2011, or the folks who wrote them don’t know superb Pinots...or maybe they just got some bad bottles, in which case, I feel for them. That’s always a bummer. But disabuse yourself of any delusions that this is a not a great wine. Pinot this good is not an accident. It’s clear that the folks at Ranch 32 know how to make a silky smooth, complex, utterly captivating Pinot. If you’re a Pinot aficionado and you like big flavor, the 2011 is a must have. Ignore the negative reviews. I bought two on a 5¢ sale and both bottles blew me away. I shared the second bottle with a party of wine lovers — folks who know and appreciate fine wines — and they raved about it. On the next 5¢ sale I bought two cases. They’re almost gone now, and it’s time to restock, so I’m glad to see that it’s back on the 5¢ sale again. The 2011 was a truly awesome Pinot; buy any you can find. I haven’t tried the 2012 yet, but if it matches the 2011 vintage, it’s worth the full price...and it’s a steal on the 5¢ sale.

Barnyard smell
Nose smells of barnyard. Let it open up for a bit and it gets a little more tolerable. Taste is very odd. Tastes of decay, yeast, and under graped finish.  Feels like it over oxidized or needs to open up for far longer than the normal p-no-arrrr.

Terrible, even smells bad. All 3 of us that tried it thought it was terrible. Interesting how the front label says its a 2012 vintage, but the back label says its a 2011 vintage.
