Grey Goose is all about marketing and image, their product is not any better than vodkas that are half the price, but because they market themselves as being from the Cognac region of France, people buy it. I thought it was going to be an exceptional vodka when I first bought it, but it wasn't. Don't get me wrong, it is not a bad vodka, but you can get the same quality without spending that much money. If this vodka costed half of what it does, than I would be rating it five stars, but their marketing campaign has been so successful that they can charge whatever they want. They didn't get to where they are because of taste, they got there because of a very successful marketing team.

DON'T GET 'GOOSED' BY GREY GOOSE !!!
I don't care what anyone else says, but Costco's Kirkland Vodka from France (distilled 5 times) is identical (or nearly the same) as Grey Goose as both are made in the Cognac region and uses the same water.  The wheat used in the creation of both Grey Goose and Kirkland vodka is grown in Picardy, France. Both are distilled in the same region, north and east of Paris, the distillate is then sent to Cognac, France, where it is blended with spring water and bottled. The wheat used in both Grey Goose and Kirkland is soft winter wheat, sown in October and harvested in August, which provides it with four additional months of growth in comparison to summer wheat. You be the judge, but in California Costco sells their Kirkland Signature for $19.99 for a BIG 1.75 liter bottle.
