Love this whiskey
I really think I found my "go to" scotch. For the price you get a bit of everything such as sweet fruit, to salt ,to peat smoke in the back and that goes for both nose and taste. It finishes dry then sweet.

I agree with everyone else , the more I drink the better I like , the briny aroma of the Scottish seas , the nice balanced smoke , Full bodied and smooth , best scotch for the price in my book .

Put this off for a long time due to my "fear" of heavy smoke...mistake.  This is a great Scotch of heavy complexity for the price.  First- the nosing:  1st nose is of alcohol, 2nd picks up a sweetness, 3rd gathers in some pear with a very faint banana, I think.  Now to taste...tasting was from a Glencairn crystal, first with, then without a drop of water- and for this I poured 2 separate examples:  Up front I got a buttery sweet layer (butterscotch is appropriate), followed by an oily anise.  This gives it a heavy feel in my mouth just before that dark, briny smoke kicks in.  Think Laphroaig, but much more tame, muted, and easier drinking.  This is a very rich 12 year old, and in my opinion, quite a bit more complex than another solid offering in this category, Macallan 12.  Too early to say whether this will inch upward on my list of favorites, but it's up there enough for now.  As the spirit oxidizes over time, I expect it to really pop.  Take time to appreciate this one...
