quality control problem
I have consumed about 5  5th's  & swore off most every one. To much burn to get to the flavor. I went back to Beam devils cut. Now I have a 1.75 Makers & it it truly genuine. I think that there is a quality control problem

Smooth sippin' bourbon
My goto bourbon on the rocks. After many years of various bourbons, I find this to be the smoothest and most enjoyable to just sit around and sip. Sweet without the strong bite of many others. Like Old Fitzgerald, it is made using wheat rather than rye based mash. By the way, If you have not tried Old Fitzgerald you should. Another smooth sipping bourbon.

Old Fashioned drinkers love Maker's Mark.
Great all around bourbon. Maker's Mark is in my opinion, the absolute ideal bourbon for an Old Fashioned, my cocktail of choice. Slightly more expensive than Jack Daniel's or Jim Beam but worth every penny. For the record, I am not a "bourbon snob", but I do appreciate a good product when I taste one. In my home bar I stock Makers, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey 101, Woodford Reserve and Basil Hayden's. Makers gets used the most for it's well rounded qualities and compatibility in various concoctions, and Basil Hayden's I would consider my finest "special occasion" bourbon. If you are into Old Fashioneds though, Maker's is really the only choice. If you are a Jack and Coke drinker, for a REAL treat try Maker's Mark with Hansen's Original Cola (instead of Coca~Cola). Wow!

Over priced, over hyped, over marketed, snob bourbon. I can't figure out why people say this is good bourbon. It's harsh mid shelf quality at best, but has a top shelf price. That's why I rate it 2 stars. I think most people see the fancy bottle with the wax seal on the top shelf and think it is good quality. Try a blind taste test against other whiskeys and you will see it is seldom anyone's favorite. Lately, Makers Mark has been advertising heavily, especially on TV. That's all you need to know about it's quality. If it is as good as they claim, why spend millions marketing it? Jim Beam is better and much lower cost.
