Schneider Aventinus Wheat-Doppelbock (16.9 OZ BTL)

2008 WORLD BEER CUP BRONZE MEDAL. Truly remarkable beer! Layers of malty complexities of figs and a raisiny fruitiness; balances nicely with a clovey spiciness; develops into a Champagne like acidity.

truly one of the greatest beers-top 5!  delivers a complex, full malt and bavarian style wheat taste all the way to the bottom of the glass.  worth the price, especially considering the extra ingredients and the distance from the brewery and i have never had anything like it.  enjoy with german sausages, pork roast or beef pot roast with sauerkraut (not the stuff straight out of the can!).  your reverie of the tastes will last for several days.

Full throttle flavor
This is the first beer I've tried that could be described as "bitter" or mildly "sour" that I actually like. Been going through several of the sours lately and this one is, for me, just right. I'm now convinced that I am going to keep tasting beers from this brewery since every one I've had so far makes me quite happy!

Unique style, perfectly done
Amazing wheat bock. Definitely malty and sweet as a doppelbock should be, with Munich-malt-style raisin notes, but hop bitterness is more noticeable than a typical all barley doppelbock, perhaps due to the wheat malt or higher hopping levels. Speaking of hop levels, they are perfect; neither too bitter nor too sweet. Just perfect levels of bitterness. Remember that bock styles are going to be sweet simply due to the large amount of malt. Wheat beer yeast esters contribute fruity notes not found in a barley doppelbock. Smooth, clean and highly drinkable despite the flavor complexity. A unique, truly-great beer from one of the world's best breweries.

My favorite beer PERIOD! This is the best full bodied beer ever made. Actually, I think this beer was first meant for God, somehow Bevmo got a hold of it. I've tried so many types of beer and nothing beats this. Keep in mind that this is a FULL bodied beer, so it's not for wimps. The alcohol % is much higher than your typical lager also. When you first pour this you get cloves, bananas, figs, but man the taste is just out of this world! The only reason I don't have this more often is that you have to pay a good amount for this good stuff...
